FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS :

TESTIMONIALS FROM MY OTHER CLASSES :

"Taking class with Holly was amazing! I wasn’t able to make the class during real time, but was swiftly sent all materials including the recording and slides. I watched on my own time and at my own pace which made the class both accessible and engaging! Holly was also available to answer any questions I had afterwards. I learned exactly what I needed to know. If you’re considering taking one of Holly’s classes, do it! You won’t regret it." - Jess A.

“Holly’s immense skill combined with her fun and fabulous attitude make her a beyond excellent teacher. Learning from Holly has been nuanced, playful, and incredibly informative. Not only is Holly an incredibly present and positive person, but an amazing artist to learn from.” - Natalie S.

Q : What kind of time commitment is required to use this budgeting system? A : You should plan to budget (haha) 10-15 minutes a week to stay with this practice. I recommend writing down your income and spending at least weekly because falling behind makes it feel more time-consuming.

Q : I cannot attend live and I will not be able to watch the recordings until after the new year. Will this still be useful to me? A : Yes, you can start a budgeting practice at any point in the year. Like any practice, you might fall off and then come back to it again. However, I do recommend watching the two recordings one month apart because the first class teaches you how to track your finances and the second class teaches you how to use the information you gathered after tracking your finances for a whole month.

Q : Do you have to make a certain amount of money or be debt-free in order to maintain a budgeting practice? A : No! Budgeting is helpful for any financial situation. My approach to budgeting is that it is a container for your financial information, whatever that information may be. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to managing our resources.

Q : What app is your budgeting template based on? Is it mobile-friendly? A : Yes! It is a Google Sheets spreadsheet, which you can access in your internet browser or using the Sheets app. I formatted the spreadsheet to feel as easeful as possible on both mobile and desktop.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN : How to track your finances, cultivate a sustainable practice of looking at your numbers, and use those numbers to create a budget for the year.

COST : $150, with financial accessibility options.

Together we will explore how to engage with money management while standing in values of self-compassion and anti-capitalism.
That means weaving in these elements especially:

  • Anti-perfectionism.

  • Generosity.

  • Slow growth.

  • Staying present in our bodies.

  • Recognizing that we have more choice than what the systems tells us.

YOUR TEACHER

Hi! I am Holly Stevens—a neurodivergent, genderqueer photographer living on unceded Duwamish land in Seattle, WA. I am not a finance expert; I am an artist and queer with a deep curiosity about how to manage money from a place of joy and confidence rather than scarcity and fear. I have maintained a consistent budgeting practice for several years now and found it to be an indispensable tool in this process. I am excited to share with you everything I have learned from my experiences.

MY HOPE FOR THE IMPACT OF THIS WORKSHOP :

✦ That if you experience guilt every time you spend money, you will go forth feeling more grounded in your choices.

✦ That if you struggle with compulsive spending, you will be able to feel deeper into what purchases you really want to be making.

✦ That if you've struggled to budget in the past, you will now be equipped with the skills and confidence to budget consistently.

GRATITUDE :

So much thanks to Dexter Stevens and Robin Stevens for being indispensable in the process of creating this class and designing the budgeting spreadsheet. I could not have done this without you!

I am also immensely grateful to my money teachers—Marlee Grace, Bear Hebert, and Danica Boyce, among many others.
