Happy New Moon to you. I hope the spring is treating you all well so far. Here in Seattle we are enjoying waves of warm and sunny, then cool and wet, and just generally unpredictable weather. It feels very correct for springtime and it reassures me that some things are still right with the earth, at least some of the time.

Wishing you a very happy Friday and a sweet arrival of Spring. My note is very brief today as I just wanted to pop in to your inboxes to share some new photos and see how you all are feeling as the seasons shift.

Wishing you a sense of ease on this Monday morning. From my window where I sit tapping on my keyboard, I can see birds foraging in my dormant garden. I am so delighted to see their return as the days start to warm and green daffodil shoots make themselves known in the side yard.

I hope the month has started off gently for you. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about how I can wind down this year and really put it to rest, rather than just rushing forward and suddenly finding myself in 2025, with the same sense of urgency that I have been wrestling with for much of this past year.

It is with a heavy heart that I write you today. I am still processing my grief around last week’s national election results and I’m sure I will be for quite a while. If you hold any sort of marginalized identity and live in the US, I imagine you are feeling this on some level.

I hope your week has been flowing with ease. I am stoked to say the Polaroid Pop-up at the beginning of the month was an amazing success, thanks in part to several of you! I am so grateful to all the folks who came out to raise money for Palestine and get a Polaroid taken.

It is a foggy day in Seattle and as I biked Rigby to preschool this morning I admired the already-changing leaves of fall. Every single year it feels so good to arrive in this season. I experience a real satisfaction after the rush of action that summer requires as the busy season for my business...

I am very happy to be dropping into your inboxes today. Despite my vow to have a slow summer, I have once again crammed my schedule full with all the things I need to do and want to do. This season is just such an enticing time for saying yes, yes, yes...

Rachel in Roses
After enjoying a little surprise rain earlier this week, we are now back to warm and sunny days here in Seattle. I am drinking it up! I received several shoots’ worth of film scans back in the last few days so I have plenty of editing to do and I am stoked to settle into it...

Lauren & Willow
I hope the first half of July has treated you well. I am currently sitting in apark near Rigby’s preschool soaking in the sights and smells of summer. For the first time in as long as I can remember, I am actually enjoying the hot sunny days...

Hannah in the River
I have really missed writing you and I am so glad to be back. Over the last month I have been busy putting the final touches on my new website, and that unfortunately didn’t leave any time for newsletter writing...

Julia & Twins at Home
I hope the end of April has found you well. The weather in Seattle has been the very picture of Spring, with gray mornings melting into sunny afternoons giving way to blustery evenings. I truly delight in these transitional seasons...

I don't have a personal essay to share today, but I didn't want another week to pass without sending out some photos that felt very befitting for this season. These were from a lovely morning spent in the Carkeek woods and snowdrop glen.

I love new moon energy because I love composting that which is no longer serving me. I love endings! When I end something, I am always making room for something better and more aligned to come along...
